If you didn't get the hint from my title, I'm talking about Jamaica.
I've decided that 2008 is the year that I no longer make excuses. I was born in Jamaica and I came to the United States when I was 4 years old. I've been back a few times but the last time was in elementary school.
Yeah. Well over 15 years ago.
That's changing in a few short weeks. I've decided to give myself an early birthday present. The great thing is that I didn't need to book a hotel or anything else because I still have family there. They are excited that I'm coming and I'm glad that I finally fulfilled a promise to go back.
The sad part of the whole thing is that I don't remember Jamaica at all. I don't remember very much of my childhood. I remember the weather was hot and that's just about it. But that will change very soon.
I'll take plenty of pictures and eat plenty of good jamaican food. I'm sure I'll have plenty of good stories to tell when I get back. Hmm....maybe I'll find Mrs. Right. (smile).
The countdown begins....

You owe it to yourself to reacquaint yourself with your home, SP. I think you've earned a vacation, so go on down there, have fun, and meet Mrs. Christ...I've heard caribbean women are the truth anyway.
Stop looking for her, man!
That's when she'll come.
Yeah, Jamaica is the shiznit.
@Chris...I know. I've made so many excuses (college, work, etc...) in the past for not going back sooner. March can not come any sooner for me.
@M-dubb. lol. Yeah, so true. I'll have plenty of pictures.
I am glad you are going back to Jamaica, your place of ancestry.
Bring me a fine Jamaican woman!
Have fun in the homeland.
@epsilonicus...lol. You can have the women that I throw back. My aunt is already "arranging dates" for me in Jamaica. This will be interesting.
@cnel..thanks..
