Weekend with spchrist
Friday:
- 9:00 a.m. - Woke up. Had breakfast. Washed face/showered/brushed teeth.
- 10:30 a.m. - Left for work.
- Noon - Started writing my boys basketball feature also my five players to watch and five games to see for the boys basketball preview. The deadline was 5 p.m.
- 1 p.m. - O.K. I really started doing my work.
- 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. - Answered like a billion phone calls. The phone usually does not ring before 5 p.m. in a sports department.
- 4:58 p.m. - Filed my boys basketball preview stuff and headed out the door to cover opening night game. Game time is 6:30 p.m.
- 5 p.m. - Made a few phone calls to friends while driving to the game.
- 6 p.m. - Arrived at gym. Greeted head coaches. Got starting lineups. Took some pictures for my work blog of fans in the crowd.
- 7:05 p.m. - The varsity game hasn't quite started since the JV game went late. !@#$%^&
- 9:05 p.m. - The varsity game ended...kid on winning team hit game-winning shot with a minute and some change left and winning team played good defense down the stretch.
- 9:10 p.m. - Called the office and gave them the score of game and then zoomed down the Garden State Parkway to the office.
- 9:35 p.m. - Arrived at the office. Asked boss how many inches for the story and went to my desk.
- 10:05 p.m. - Had writer's block. Boss asked how much longer on story. I yell back in five minutes. Outright lie. (smile)
- 10:25 p.m. - Filed boys basketball gamer. Started chasing down delinquent coaches that didn't call in games.
- 10:45 p.m - Updated work blog. Chatted with co-workers on a rough opening night.
- 11:30 p.m. - Looked at proofs of the boys basketball stuff.
- 12:12 a.m. - Drove home.
Saturday:
- 9 a.m. - W0ke up. Had breakfast. Washed face/showered/brushed teeth.
- Noon - Left for work
- 1:15 p.m. - Arrived in Toms River to cover a high school basketball tournament.

- 8:56 p.m. - Boss walked over and said I still had one more task.
- 8:57 p.m. - Cursed under my breath. Sat down at my desk again.
- 9:30 p.m. - Finished last task. Gave the peace sign to the copy desk and walked out the door.
- 9:35 p.m. - Drove to New York City. The night of fun began.
Sunday:- 9 a.m. - Woke up with a headache.
- 10:30 a.m. - Showered/brushed teeth/got dressed.
- 11:15 a.m. - Drove to the Cheesecake Factory to have brunch.
- 11:35 a.m. - Arrived at the mall and accidentally walked into a chinese food place instead of the Cheesecake Factory (obviously still exhausted from Saturday night's activities). Lol.
- 11:38 a.m. - Walked into the "real" Cheesecake Factory.
- Noon - Seated at the "real" Cheesecake Factory.
- 12:15 p.m. - Ordered french toast with ham on the side and a glass of orange juice.
- 12:35 p.m. - Ordered vanilla bean cheesecake. Disclaimer: I never truly liked the Cheesecake Factory before this visit. Actually, the Cheesecake Factory (albeit the Boston location) was the site of a very nasty argument with an ex-girlfriend. However, this weekend...the scrumptious vanilla beam cheesecake helped me exorcise those demons from the past.
- 12:45 p.m. - Paid the check and left with a doggie bag for the french toast and the vanilla beam cheesecake.
- 1:15 p.m. - Drove back to New Jersey with a gigantic smile on my face. Life is good!

you know how to live, brother. Glad you had fun this weekend.
I'm gonna have to try that next time. I went to the Cheesecake Factory on Sunday as well, and since I like Snickers, I tried the Snickers cheesecake. It was pretty good, except for all the peanuts on top of the whipped cream. Don't like peanuts, by themselves. But I do love them in Snickers and peanut M&M's Although I'll have to look for the vanilla bean cheesecake next time.
Vanilla Bean Cheesecake is the way to go!
@con1...those details are classified information (strict orders). I think I already gave away how much fun I had when I said I walked into the wrong restaurant thinking it was the Cheesecake Factory.
My baby! Too much up north without me, huh? When will you bring that joy to the TX? - niki
Technical foul on Sherlon.
You violated rule #1:
SHOW, don't tell.
This entry was titled "weekend with spchrist."
You detail Friday's work, then Saturday's work. THEN you TELL us that some good times ensued Sat. nite without SHOWING us how you had fun. When the narrative resumes, you're wandering the mall trying to shake off the effects of this good time THAT YOU STILL HAVENT DESCRIBED TO US!!!
I repeat, this entry is titled "weekend with spchrist," yet we hear nothing about the pivotal event of yr weekend....How you gon tease us like that? Some things happen that you wish hadnt? Where were you at? Scrapbooking convention? Dungeons and Dragons Tournament? You can tell us Sherlon. There's no judgement here...
Maybe you can call the next one "weekend with spchrist -- everything but the fun."
