I would be a terrible person to have on a jury. I make up my mind very quickly about people and form an opinion if I think they are a genuine person or not. Hence, it didn't take me long to go through the ballot for the 2007 National Association of Black Journalists elections because there is stark difference in just about every contested category in my opinion. I already voted online...so I could enjoy my time in Las Vegas. Here were my picks...
President - Cheryl Smith
Vice/President of Print - Meta Mereday
Vice/President of Broadcast - Kathy Times
Secretary - Deirdre Childress
Parliamentarian - V.W. Vaughan
Student Representative - Christopher Nelson
Disclaimer: As a full member of NABJ, I can't vote for a student representative but if I could vote for that category...Christopher Nelson would be my man.

I'm glad to see you voted for Cheryl! I wish I could have voted for her, but alas I'm only a student member. I did give my support to Chris though! I'm sure he won't let the students down. I may have to check out your blogs more...............
Yeah...voting for Cheryl Smith was the quickest decision I made of the choices. Chris Nelson is the man and a very dedicated individual.
Thanks for the support. It paid off.
Your welcome Chris...good luck with your term as student rep. I know you'll do an outstanding job for the students of NABJ.
