I'm coming up on the 1-year anniversary of having my own place again. Honestly, I have my lonely moments but NOTHING beats peace and quiet in your own spot. I had to dig deep into the mail bag to find a story that ya'll would appreciate. Enjoy.
Full names were withheld to protect the guilty. Context: my e-mail to roommate #1 about roommate #2.

So, this morning around 8:30 a.m. I hear a loud banging on the door. I'm thinking it is the old man and I wasn't going to answer. Then the banging continues and I take a peek at the top of the stairs
It is the local police.
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. I'm thinking the local police are after you. I walk downstairs and open the door and a male cop says "we had a report of someone pissing off the front porch." I look at him like he's out of his mind because it wasn't me. I didn't go to bed till like 4:30 a.m. So, I tell him to hold on and let me check with Billy. Only because I wanted to resolve this and get them out of here, I told the police to come up stairs. I knock on Billy's door the first time and get this faint "yeah." I keep knocking and he doesn't answer. Finally, the male cop yells "it is the Police...open the door". He opens the door reluctantly and the male cop says "we have a witness that says they saw you pissing off the front porch." the woman cop says "he fits the description" and the male cop says "yeah...white t-shirt, blue shorts, dark hair"
I'm saying to myself...christ...this can't be good. When Billy opened the door...he looked absolutely STONED. Then I thought to myself, sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeet is the kid even 21? Well, he slowly answered the questions from the cop and he had a prior ticket/warning/ or warrant...can't remember clearly for drunk driving (not sure exactly...but it was something alcohol related and smoking pot or something). Well, he only got a warning but I guess he could have been in deep sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet if a child saw him pissing off the front porch. Apparently, the cop said it was an adult and the crime was 4th degree lewdness. If it was a kid, Billy was going to jail.
After the cops left...he closed his room door and didn't say anything to me...

Its funny how I complain up and down abouthaving to live with three other females but when I was the last one to leave my apt. over the holiday break and I had the apt. to myself for 2nights it was really weird and unfamiliar.
3 other people? Damn...that's a crowd. At most, I could have done only one other person, if I was in command of the lease and stuff. In the situation that I described, roommate #1 controlled the lease...so I couldn't say or do anything about it. Now...I call my own shots.
AMEN on calling your own shots. I'm so glad to come home to nothing. It's a great look.
