The Wire: The 5th and Final Season

If you don't have HBO, you might want to befriend someone right now.

If you haven't heard, the season 5 premiere is already on HBO on Demand for those lucky folks. The rest of you will have to wait till Sunday, Jan. 6 for the showing of the first episode of the new season, which is episode 51.

Thus far, season 3 (Amsterdam) is my favorite season but I think I'm already crowning season 5 the champion because it takes a look at the journalism world.

My All-Time Wire breakdown

Favorite bad guy: Stringer Bell (R.I.P.).
Favorite good guy: Lester Freamon.
Favorite scene: The scene in season 3 when Stringer Bell and Avon Barksdale have that bloody fight.
Least favorite character: Delonda Brice (Namond's mom), William Rawls and Ziggy...in a 3-way tie.
Greasiest character: State Senator Clay Davis.....sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!
Most depressing scene: When Kima got shot.
Most provocative scene: The Kima love scene (forgot what season).
Best Nickname: Wee-Bey.
Character that I would most like to play: Detective William "Bunk" Moreland.
Favorite season: Season 3 (until further notice).
Most unlikely twist: Daniels and Rhonda becoming an item and Beadie and McNulty becoming an item.
Most horrific killing: Watching Chris Partlow beat Micheal's father to death with his bare hands.
Most predictable outcome: Tommy Carcetti becoming mayor.
Most overdone story line: McNulty's drinking problem.
Best story development: Chris Partlow and Snoop stashing bodies in the vacants and Freamon eventually discovers the "tombs."

I know...I've told people not to call me on Sunday night after 9 p.m. so I can watch the Wire in peace.
