So, Greyhound/Peter Pan now have some competition in my book.
I usually book my ticket online and pay just over $20 for Greyhound/Peter Pan but I forgot to do it last night. I rushed to Boston's South Station and found this alternate bus service to NYC. I've heard friends talk about the Bolt Bus and the Mega Bus for a while but I've never had a chance to take either one.
Tuesday morning was my chance and first up was the Bolt Bus. It was $20 for a one-way trip and I paid the driver in cash at the station. I was told I could go online and buy an advanced ticket for as low as $15. Next time, I think I will. The only drawback is that the bus lets you off at 33rd and 8th near Penn Station...not the Port Authority.
Oh the bus is nice. Newer seats. More leg room. Free Wi-Fi. Outlets in the back of every seat. Hmm. I might have a new bus service for my regular trips back home to Boston from New York.

I tried Mega Bus for the first time last weekend...I don't think I will driving to DC again!
You know what sucks, the fact that Up North/DC/VA area has a much better Transit.Bus system than down here. If I wanna take a but from Atlanta to Chicago it isn't 20 bucks it's more like 2 hunned womp and bOo
@dollface...I rarely drive back to Boston as it is...and with these new bus options...it might be once a year.
@diamondsr4eva. Yeah...the bus options are VERY good up here and so is the transit system. It is one of the things that I love about living in the Northeast. You can get away without a car sometimes.
