Live from LA...(Part 2)

Day 2 in Los Angeles County started with breakfast at Norms Restaurant in Van Nuys. I originally wanted to go to Denny's or as a second choice IHOP but my gracious host said that I wouldn't be disappointed by a trip to Norms Restaurant. She was right (I guess women are always right) and the food was amazing. I had something similar to a meat lover's breakfast (ham, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns and pancakes) and washed it down with a glass of orange juice. She had something called "steak & eggs" with toast. I didn't know you could eat steak for breakfast. lol.

After stuffing ourselves with breakfast, we drove down to the Santa Monica Pier to go to the beach. I didn't bring a bathing suit (forgot it) so we decided to walk down the beach towards the Santa Monica Pier. Ms. Sher-bear bought me a Barack Obama t-shirt and I was wearing it as we walked along the beach. Several people came up close to me...to get a good look at what the shirt said. The shirt was also my favorite color=blue. I have pictures of the shirt and some other interesting things that I saw and I'll upload them when I get home later this week. It was a mild day...84 degrees...and there was a brisk wind. The beaches out here are extremely clean and you can't smoke on them. The police patrols are also deep.

After the beach, we drove to Burbank to go to the Olive Garden for the Never Ending Pasta Bowl but the wait was 45 minutes and we walked over to the Outback Steakhouse and checked on that wait time. That wait was only 30 minutes and we decided to go with the restaurant that notified us first. Outback Steakhouse won. We had a wonderful dinner and didn't finish because we were still stuffed from breakfast. We drove home and ended the night watching "I Am Legend."

That's the report from Day 2. See you tomorrow.
