The friend request

You meet someone of the opposite sex at an event (formal or social...my case was a basketball game with my friends)...and you exchange business cards because you thought the person was cute and interesting from the brief conversation you had that day.

Keep in mind this personal has no connection to you: meaning they are not in your profession (which in my case is journalism), you have no mutual friends (that you can crosscheck this person with) and you've never hung out with this person outside of that one chance meeting.

So, if that person sent you a friend request on a social networking site (this case facebook)...do you accept it? and why or why not?

Yes because they were cute and interesting enough for you to give them your infomation in the first place. It's possible they thought you were good (whatever) enough to put that business card to use.

@Erin...someone is going to know they are on a limited profile and you'll still appear as someone's mutual friend...even though you really aren't.

@Epsilonicus...well...I have to know you a little bit better before I go adding random people to my facebook account.

I would accept them and just restrict them from certain things, like seeing all of my photos, for example, or my status updates. I don't really care if they can tell I've limited their access to my page. For all they know, I could've restricted access for everyone.
