Depends on how you define background check. I definitely do a quick Google search to see what it turns up. And that helped me once, when I Googled a guy only to see his *wedding website* come up first on the search results. That's right, he was married! He'd only been married less than two years at the time (already trying to cheat though), and since the wedding website had photos of him and his wife, I was certain it was NOT a case of mistaken identity! LOL.
