Droppin' the F-Bomb!

ESPN News anchor Danyelle Sargent (fine black woman pictured above) might have cost herself any shot of a promotion to SportsCenter with this classic TV blopper. After SportsCenter has technical difficulties with Neil Everett and Stan Verrett hosting, the network switches over to ESPN News with Robert Flores and Sargent hosting.

Click on her picture to listen for the "F-bomb" in the very last part of the video. When you're finished with that segment, read the rest of this entry.

How is this for an irony? The anchor next to Sargent is Robert Flores … who was fired by an Austin TV station for cursing on air.

Yikes, ooh I hate technical difficulties. Though that was bad, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. She maybe didn't know her mic was open. Cursing on air sucks, but it shouldn't hold one back, if it was an honest mistake. But someone has to be a lot more careful.

Wow. Just wow. Granted our anchors start talking immediately about something, whether they're laughing, mad about something, whatever, they don't curse. But they've never been caught on the air either. So you maybe she didn't know her mic was up cuz sometimes they will bring it up sooner than you think.

There is no excuse for cursing on air...

Looked to me like a set up. You'd be surprised how many times it's happened in shops I've worked. Prompter issue maybe...but then they obviously turned her mic up as she was venting about it. Her bad, too...shouldn't be going off while your co-anchor's in the midst of a VO. Is she new? Haven't seen her before. Cute hair.

LOL @ this Heiffer didn't know she was on air. I thought the f-bomb was gonna be all subdued. Yes, Danyelle, what WAS that?

She gotta be careful. She should just never curse while ate work. That way no one can call her on it for any reason. I thought it would be something that you would have to listen for. Home girl is just sloppy.

@so wise sista...No...she's not new...she's been there since 2003. I think you can only get ESPN News with digital cable (which I don't have) so I never see her a lot. For a while, she was reading news updates on Cold Pizza on ESPN2.

ahhhhhhhhhhh!!! i had heard about that but i didn't know it was that bad!! clearly the first rule of broadcasting is treat every mic like its open. there's no excuse for that. our anchors talk b/t shots, but come on while on air? no excuse. she is pretty, tho. in her pic anyway.
