Going Digital

I've decided to give myself an early birthday (August 13th) present.

I went to Best Buy on Wednesday and bought my first digital camera. Actually, this is my first camera. . . period.

Now, the picture isn't the same exact camera that I bought but very close to what I got for $149. I have a Fuji A350 digital camera with 5.2 megapixels. I can also shoot video with this camera, too and I bought a 128 MB picture card ($30) to replace the 16 MB picture card that comes with the camera.

I plan to test it out this weekend. I'm getting a haircut on Friday. After I leave work on Saturday afternoon, I'm hitting the town with my new toy. On Sunday, I'll be out and about again. So, I should have some updated pictures...very...very soon. Maybe, my new toy and subsequent pictures will translate into more attention from the ladies (scratches chin).

So, my camera experts...did I get a good deal?

yeah good pickup at 5 megapixels. although, if you take flicks on the high quality setting, the 128 mb stick will only hold so many.

craaaaaaaackin up at the early bday present. all 4 months early. another tip, you don't want to leave the viewing screen on for long periods of time b/c it drains your battery. use the viewfinder sometimes, just like you would on a 35mm.

I don't know if this camera uses regular batteries or it has its own special battery, but if it has its own, you may wanna buy an extra one. Or if it uses regular batteries, definitely get rechargeable b/c the batteries do die fast.

I cant believe how much the prices have come down. I paid about $400 for practically the same camera two years ago. Time for a new camera for me, too!

Yes, I must say that you did get a good deal. I paid $299 for my 5.0 megapixel a year and a half ago.

Pops is right that the 128mb memory will only hold so many, but that "only so many" is still a good number of pics. Between that memory stick and the internal memory on your camera, you can take ALOT of pics.
