Some information about Jamaicans...like myself

This forward was posted on a Jamaican MySpace page and I thought I would educate the rest of America.

Jamaicans.....

Express disgust by 'sucking' or 'kissing' our teeth

Point with our mouth or "cut our eyes" when upset with someone

Stir the ice in our drinks to make it colder

Take the ice in our mouth and spit it back into the glass while drinking

Eat the ice loudly when the drink is finished

Refer to any traveling distance as "jus' roun' di car-nah!"

Have a lamp with a 'home sweet home' lampshade somewhere in the house

Never throw away any leftover food, no matter how small the portion

Use words twice for emphasis (e.g. fool-fool, pyah-pyah, fenke-fenke, so-so, big-big)

Can't enjoy Sunday dinner without rice & peas

Go to the bathroom to 'Tidy'

Suitcase smells like a combination of roast breadfruit, ackee, fish and white rum

(breadfruit)

(Ackee)

To add to your list... Jamaicans also:

...start speaking in heavy patois when the kids act up;

... wind and do other seemingly-suggestive dance moves at family gatherings;

... have the flag hanging from their cars' rearview mirrors (hardcore Jamaicans get the flags with the fringe);

... say "bloodclot" when they're really, really angry;

... snack on sugar cane;

... threaten to curse their enemies;

... roll their eyes when non-Jamaicans say, "You're Jamaican? Yeah mon!"

... roll their eyes again when non-Jamaicans ask if they smoke weed.

Courtesy of me, your resident Jamerican.

I'm not Jamaican, but being from CT where EVERYONE is from Jamaica or their parents are, I knew like most of the things on your list, lol. "Turn Your Lights Down Low" is one of my favorite Bob Marley songs and even better with Ms. Hill.
