Swifty Jiffy
When I see stories like this, I'm glad that I'm a reporter.
I always make it more than obvious that I'm a reporter when I bring my car into a repair shop for the first time. I did it in Schenectady, N.Y. in 2003 and I did it in Neptune, N.J. in 2004.
I'll say it out loud that I work for "said paper" and I always leave me work ID visible in my car (sometimes hanging from the rear view mirror). I'll even blatantly leave my business card on the steering wheel (just in case i'm working with the deaf and the blind).
I don't mess around when it comes to my ride.
I go through all those steps to prevent what you saw in the aforementioned link above. My car is vital to my job. So, I need to know that when I've spent my hard earned money on repairs....THE WORK IS ACTUALLY DONE.
P.S....did you catch Ramon on the phone with some higher-up from Jiffy Lube and when he uttered the absolutely priceless line "Yeah. They caught us on tape."

Jiffy Lube be on that bullshit. I took my car to them ONCE and they overcharged me and over-inflated my damn tires. Never again. Shit. I can do my own dam oil changes.
yeah... clearly i just ask lots of questions and give them the eye until they take off eroneous charges. leaving the reporter id is a nice touch tho. i'm gonna try that.
Thats crazy...
I'd feel safer takin my car to an alley mechanic...
I thought Jiffy Lube was bought out? At least down here, they're no more. I never really liked them, I only went to them once. But I caught that too, Naw boo boo, YOU didn't put the filter in. And what about that district manager that refused to say who he actually was. Just ridiculous
Ima tell all my friends and family not to go to Jiffy Lube.
If I got scamed, I prolly would have acted out of character and whup that a$$.
Bout damn time u updated......I heard about them fancy smancy places like that ripping ppl off...thats why I think I would take my car to the dealership and have it fixed...with me beign a female and all too they would def try to get over
I would only take my car to Jiff Lube (or any other national chain like it) for something simple like oil changes.
