The Green Team (Offseason, Part 1)

Tonight, the NBA conducted its annual draft and the Boston Celtics were very busy.

First, the Celtics made a trade with the Portland Trailblazers.

Read Andy Katz's ESPN.com story here. Read the Boston Globe's story by Shira Springer here. Read the Boston Herald's story by Steve Bulpett here. Read the Portland Oregonian's version here

Next, the Celtics were rumored in a deal that they would acquire forward/center Brian Grant from the Phoenix Suns and the Suns' No. 21 pick (Kentucky's Rajon Rondo) and the Celtics would pay Brian Grant's salary but give up nothing in return. This was mentioned on ESPN during the live broadcast.

Weird. I know.

Then, the Celtics were still rumored in a deal for Philadelphia's Allen Iverson in a complex proposal that would require a third team. The early rumor was that Utah's Carlos Boozer was that player but that now appears dead. There is no update on who the new third team is or if the Celtics and Sixers can pull off the deal between themselves.

Bizarre. I really know.

On Tuesday, July 4th, the Celtics signed Rondo.
