Press Play

Recently, Diddy was quoted by various celebrity media outlets that he regrets not signing Ludacris to Bad Boy Records.

"We can't always see them when they come. I'm only human. He used to work at a radio station down there and he was doing some writing. He played me his demo tape and I just didn't understand the whole flow at that time, so I passed on that one," Diddy said in the various media reports.

Well, can someone send a bottle of cristal to Diddy for me and put it on my tab?

Actually, make that two bottles because that is one more than the amount of hit albums that Ludacris would have if he was indeed a member of Bad Boy records.

Diddy's one true successful rapper is the Notorious B.I.G and he's R.I.P.

Let's see if I can round up some of Diddy's rapper experiments:

G-Dep (that was quite a "special delivery," the type that gets stamped RETURN TO SENDER).

Black Rob (like "whoa" is that the only word in your vocabulary).

Craig Mack (Mack once bragged in his 1994 hit song, "Flava In Your Ear", "You won't be around next year". Ironically, he was the one no where to be seen in 1995, as his stardom within the hip hop world faded.

Ma$e (that $ emblem really worked out for you...huh?).

Loon (could anyone even understand this dude?).

Shyne (currently serving a 10-year prison term for taking the fall for Diddy in that infamous nightclub shooting).

The Lox (They got some money, never truly got the power they were seeking and they got very little respect).

In all fairness to Diddy, he did warn us when he said "I thought I told you that we won't stop" on 112's "Only You" Remix.

LOL...good one Sherlon! I was talking about "Pastor" Mase the other day with a friend. What a troubled individual.

Ma$e first album was classic. The Lox were a young up and coming group on Bad Boy. They didn't fit well, but it got their foot in the door.

And also whether you want to respect it or not Diddy's first album went platinum...So while he may not have had that much success with signing rappers, he's done pretty well for himself.

@solitaire...lol...I should have named this entry PRESS STOP! Diddy was on VH1 on Sunday counting down Bad Boy's 10 greatest music videos.

@j.montez...I can't disagree with your last sentence...

Ditto, Sands. Dit.to.

I can't agree with that either J. Montez. Diddy's a pretty good producer, but he sucks as a rapper. I think people assumed he would be as good a rapper as he is a producer and bought his first album. Any statistics on how many people sold that CD to Blockbuster and other stores that buy back CD's?

ITs the kiss of DEATH to sign with Bad Boy.......i guess its the place to be if u want a few bucks and a nice home for like a year..but in the long run, you need a more stable home and what happened to Total...

Yeah I got press play...and yes,Solitaire, press stop. But more over, why isn't anyone on the radio stations talking about how CORNY the cd is overall? It's REALLY REALLY corny. So corny...so UNBELIEVABLY FLUSH WITH CORN. [end rant]

@jameil1922...Ma$e is the biggest hypocrite to ever pick up the microphone. Is it rap? Is it gospel? He doesn't even know what the hell to do with himself.

@dsands, chris....thanks.

@journiemajor...I can respect your point of view.
