Can somebody say D-E-F-E-N-S-E?
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will surely not fail that spelling bee word anytime soon after Saturday's game. The New England Patriots, the two-time defending Super Bowl Champions, mauled the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 28-0, and clinched the AFC East title.
The Patriots' defense sacked Tampa Bay quarterback Chris Simms seven times and held the Bucs to 138 yards of total offense. New England offensive tackle Tom Ashworth (bottom photo) caught one of Tom Brady's three touchdown passes and linebacker Tedy Bruschi (top photo) had two of those sacks and forced a fumble.
New England has won the AFC East title for the fourth time in five years.

congrats lowly patriot fan. i for one *insert lips moving separately from the words* would like to see a rematch... CHALLLLLLLENGE!
You're welcome for getting the NFC South division lead back, jameil.
You guys couldn't hold onto it on your own, by virtue of a loss to those same Bucs last week.
No more favors from us, I say!
And with the Chargers ending their undefeated dreams (and making one of my blog entries pointless), that coughing, gagging and vomiting sound you hear coming from the Hoosier State is the Indianapolis Colts fretting over the Patriots getting stronger.
lol@chris...that's a very good explanation...
Big Up to OlManWinter (Dillon) and my new European Babydaddy (Fauria). And Bruschi is definetely back, although I am still scared he's gonna get hit hard and lose his liver or his left ear, God Forbid...
But I have a quick baseball question: Is Dude that the RedSox are looking into REALLY named Coco Crisp??? Im mean is that a nickname? or is that what his Momma calls him...LOL
Yeah, I COULD write about sports on my blog. But its more fun to write about sports with you guys over here. More authentic. Now, if you ever want to write about politics, shopping or music, you can come see me :-D
i think it is a nickname...that he goes by...
Covelli Loyce Crisp be his real name.
ahleks. admit it. you live for my witicisms. i know. look a here. the panthers didn't need the pats for the 10 wins we racked up for the season thus far so you can keep that mouth shut. please don't make me drag out each of the pats 5 losses. you don't want to talk about the monday night embarrasment at home. oooooooooooh.
covelli? his momma hates him.
I'm done with your foolishness jameil, you don't seem to listen to reason.
It's obvious that you just never got over the fact that your team lost to the Pats two seasons ago for the championship (might I add again, one of their THREE in four years).
Well it happened, so start coping in a more constructive way. And if you want to talk regular season games: Let's talk about the Panthers losing to the Dolphins and Saints. Let's talk about them getting thoroughly lambasted by the Bears and the Bucs.
But I'd actually rather not, because any sensible fan would know that the playoff season trumps the regular season. Though I suppose someone whose team hasn't had all that much success in the playoffs -- save for the Super Bowl-losing year and in its second year in existence when it made (and lost in) the NFC Championship Game -- would naturally have trouble understanding that
Once your team wins a single Super Bowl, maybe I'll give your nonsensical arguments a speck of credence.
we are never going to convince jameil1922 to join the winning team.
I'm not looking to convert her to the winning team spchrist, just trying to get her to look at the facts, which are quite undelible.
good point
