Patriots Act (Week 16)

New England Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel (touching Tom Ashworth's helmet) has a unique statistic line. Prior to Monday night's game, he had six career receptions (all of them for 1 or 2-yard touchdowns with the Patriots). Apparently, the New York Jets didn't read that entry in the media guide and Vrabel surprised another team with his catching ability.

Vrabel (three tackles, sack) added two more receptions to his career stats, both touchdowns (one from 1-yard, the other from 2-yards). Running back Corey Dillon (in top photo) rumbled to 77 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns and quarterback Tom Brady (No. 12) had a modest game (185 passing yards, 2 TDs, 1 INT) as the Patriots defeated the Jets, 31-21, in East Rutherford, N.J. in the last Monday Night Football game on ABC.

The Patriots, the two-time defending Super Bowl champions, have won six of their last seven games and have earned victories in 18 of their last 19 games after Dec. 1. Brady, a most valuable player candidate, is the league's leading passer this season with 4,073 yards. For the first time in his six-year career, Brady went over 4,000 passing yards in a season.
