2006 Patriots Act (Regular Season, Week 2)

The victory went to the teacher (New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick...pictured below)

but the pupil (New York Jets coach Eric Mangini...pictured below)

did make the Patriots 24-17 victory very interesting. The Patriots led 17-0 at halftime and 24-0 with 9:33 left in the third quarter before the Jets produced a furious comeback attempt. Mangini was on the Patriots coaching staff last season and is now in his first year as head coach of the Jets.

Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (15-for-29, 220 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) played well enough to win and the two-tier running back system of Corey Dillion (20 rushes, 80 yards, TD) and Lawrence Maroney (16 rushes, 65 yards, TD) delivered again. Brady connected with seven different receivers in the game.

AFC East Standings
Overall (Division)
Patriots 2-0 (2-0)
Bills 1-1 (1-1)
Jets 1-1 (0-1)
Dolphins 0-2 (0-1)

The Patriots are overrated. They traded their second best offensive player which pissed off their best offensive player. They'll finish second in the division behind the Bills...mark words. And one more thing...J-E-T-S JETS! JETS! JETS!
