After watching this report about San Diego's Fox6 reporter John Mattes, I questioned myself how would I have handled this incident?
I'm a sports reporter by trade and I've had countless interactions with disgruntled readers but I've never been attacked like Mattes was last week.
Shoot.
I've had readers....curse at me, push me, put their fingers in my face and follow me to my car. None of those incidents required a call to the paramedics.

Well, I was trying to watch the video report, but nothing came up. But if you're talking about the video where the reporter was attacked and the other man tried to jump in and help him, then: I saw that mess on tv the other day, and it was terrible! Just plain crazy! I can't believe those grown *** men were on tv like that. That was horrible to watch...
That is one of the craziest things I have seen in all my days. It is crazy to think that they'd physically attack a man, because he was doing his job. I don't know how I would have handled it even, but I hope never to have a situation like that happen in my life.
