Essence Music Festival 2010 (Part 4)

So...the countdown has begun.

In 24 hours, I'll be on a plane to New Orleans for the first time in my life and for the first time to the Essence Music Festival.

I'm not sure what to expect really besides it being hot. I've been to Las Vegas, which I guess is the hottest place in the world that I've been too, and from what I hear New Orleans heat can rival that of Las Vegas. Come to think of it, I had trouble handling the Dallas heat when I spent a summer there. So, we'll see how much I sweat when I get to New Orleans.

Some things I'm excited about...in no particular order.

1) Walking down Bourbon Street.

2) Having a Hurricane and a Hand Grenade.

3) Eating some good Southern Food.

4) Attending the concerts on Friday and Saturday night.

5) Going to the convention center during the day time to hear the guest speakers.

6) Wondering if I can get Steve Harvey to sign my copy of "Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man."

7) The Parties...there are too many to count.

8) If an estimated 200,000 people attend EMF and 170,000 of them are women (both my estimates based on what I've read on the internet...lol) there has to be some very interesting and intelligent women to talk to while in New Orleans.

Some things I'm not excited about....in no particular order

1) Red Eye flight back home on Monday. I'm trying to get a later flight but I highly doubt that is going to fly without the airline jacking me for a ridiculous amount of $$$ to change it. So, we'll see.

2) Rain. There is a forecast of thunderstorms every day of the EMF. So, I'm not sure how much that will slow down the partying or not. So, we'll have to see on that too.
