Two weeks have passed since I was promised changes from NABJ headquarters and I'm still listed as a student in the NABJ database and I still have not received the correct membership card in the mail.
I've chuckled quite a few times at this. When my membership was expiring at the end of May, I received three letters solicting my renewal to NABJ. The first letter came at the beginning of May. The second letter came in the middle of May. The third and final letter came the day after my membership had expired. So, NABJ obviously wanted my money.
NABJ received my payment on June 6th and it has been 4 months and 6 days and I still do not have what I paid for from the jump. I have an inside source at NABJ. Obviously, he has failed miserably at the one and only thing I asked for payment for running his campaign in Atlanta. I guess you can never trust a politican (even one that is your friend) and never expect first-rate customer service from NABJ.
What do you think I should do when I get the myriad of renewal letters in 2006?

It's sad that we [black people] are notorious for terrible for providing terrible customer service. I've come across the same problem in other venues from resturants, contractors to going through Sheniqua's line at the local grocery store.
Dont want to sound like that, but in my experience I have found it to be true.
But obviously you are not the only one who is getting a little fed up with NABJ!

simonsays...you're my boy...but your also a part of the bureaucracy that is NABJ. We'll if they don't want to make me a grown up...shit...then my $80 should stretch for three years as a student member and I'll gladly pay the LOWER student rates for conventions!
