Straight From the Streets Report #5
As usual, the straight from the streets report is live and direct from New Jersey.
1. I made the voter registration deadline. I must admit that I was a little lazy and registered via U.S. Mail (it rained for like a week straight). I should get a confirmation letter from the New Jersey Division of Elections very soon. The New Jersey Gubernatorial November election between U.S. senator Jon Corzine (Democrat) and Doug Forrester (Republican) will be the first time I exercise my right to vote.
2. After enough bitching on my blog, I finally got NABJ to correct my membership status in its database and send me a new membership card. I can now plan my trip to the 2006 NABJ convention in Indianapolis (August 16-20, 2006) without any malice. My "race to Indy" will be my 4th NABJ convention (2001 Orlando, 2002 Milwaukee and 2005 Atlanta were the previous three). For more information, visit the link below.

3. Since no one hit the Mega Millions on Friday, the jackpot rose to $90 million for Tuesday's drawing. As you remember, the last Mega Millions jackpot winners were from Rutherford, N.J. and I always jump into the mix when the jackpot approaches $100 million.
That's all for now...check back in a week or so for the next Straight from the Streets Report.
