Patriots Act (Divisional Weekend)

Uncharacteristically sloppy, the New England Patriots committed five turnovers and Denver pounced on the defending champions for a 27-13 victory in Denver, Colo.
Denver cornerback Champ Bailey (bottom photo) made a huge impact with his 99-yard interception return from the Patriots endzone in third quarter.
He was tackled at the 1-yard line but Broncos running back Mike Anderson (in the center of top photo) finished the job with a 1-yard score, his second touchdown run of the game.

Five turnovers.

The Broncos aren't THAT good, folks. The Patriots just really went out and embarrassed themselves in front of the entire country. That was the hardest part for me: watching some champions embarrass themselves by turning the ball over and over again, not making any plays..etc, etc.

30-something days till Red Sox spring training.

@darren....We'll see what the Broncos do against the Steelers but they did what the Patriots were famous for in their run of 3 Super Bowls in 4 years. When an opponent made a mistake...they squashed them like a bug.

i see you buried this post under two others. you can't fool me. i knew one was coming. po thang. i thought about you yesterday and how you probably cried yourself to sleep saturday night. and how you were probably really pissed when you watched the panthers win. esp. w/all the trash being talked by all the silent patriot fans right now.

you know its all in love.... all the way to the superbowl.

You know what, jameil. I actually thought kindly of the Panthers the last couple of year, until I was privy to your incessant mouthing off. But now I hope they lose because of you and only you!

Anyway, onto the Pats game. Their defense performed admirably, holding that vaunted Broncos rushing attack to only 3 yards per carry. It's unfortunate the offense and special teams had to go out and lay such an egg.

The Broncos only had to travel something like 24 yards to get 21 points because of all the Pats' miscues. They just threw away a totally winnable game.

The Pats will definitely be back much stronger next year, since they aren't an over-the-hill team like the Cowboys when they finally bowed out of contention. Until then I will console myself with the memories of the three --count 'em, jameil -- three Super Bowl wins under their collective belt.

But at least this weekend wasn't totally bad. It was great seeing Peyton Manning sulking like years past when they lost on Sunday. I never saw them winning it all and I'm not sure what I would have done had they accomplished that feat.

It's funny Jameil, you were silent for a while until the Patriots finally lost a game. If it takes you 2-3 weeks to come up with a rebuttal, you clearly are a weak debater with an extremely weak argument.

As far as Patriots fans crying ourselves to sleep, I'm going to need you to grab a hold of reality and hang on tight. Yeah it sucks to see your season end, but each year the majority of us who follow the NFL watch it happen. That's part of the game. Some losses hurt more than others, but none of us are too devastated. While we were obviously disappointed, nobody was crying themselves to sleep.

The Patriots are still a good team, with a strong coach, strong QB, they have talented vets and promising young players. They will certainly be back next year.

As far as being pissed that the Panthers won, you again need to come back down to reality and realize that nobody really cares. The Panthers are a great team this year, nobody's denying it. The fans and media respect them, but still nobody really cares. If the Panthers win it all, they win it all, if they don't, they don't. They really aren't even important enough for me to hate. But one thing is for sure, if they do win it all, it still won't change the fact that the Patriots beat them in the Superbowl two years ago and it won't change the fact that the Patriots have THREE Superbowl wins. Now I'm off to watch my Superbowl DVDs, drink out of my Superbowl Champions mug, and curl up with my Superbowl Champions blank.

ooh y'all bitter. that's not cute. not your color. calm down. like you said, losing is a part of sports. somebody gotta do it. the patriots have been off all season so you knew it was coming.

Go Seahawks!

Are you mad that the Patriots beat your precious Eagles in that run? LMAO!!!!!!

Um Jameil do you even read before you reply? Who's bitter? The only person in here who is bitter or worked up about all this is you. And you continue to ignore actual comments and facts and just repeat the same stuff over and over, no matter how incorrect, baseless, unimportant, or stupid they are. Bottomline is my team lost last Saturday and your team lost in the Superbowl two years ago. I'd say the latter is the worse of the two.
