Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein (shown above) resigned Monday and may take a year off or leave baseball completely. The Red Sox announced that he will stay with the team for the next several days to assist in the transition and help prepare for the upcoming offseason. Epstein was reportedly offered around $4.5 million over three years, but decided he was unable to continue in Boston. There is no word yet on a possible replacement in the Sox front office.
