NABJ Bureaucracy (Round 2)

I was supposed to receive a phone call back from the National Association of Black Journalists on Wednesday. It never happened.

NABJ took my $80 for a professional membership on June 6th and sent me a student membership on Sept. 26th. Quite frankly, I was insulted and this is also unacceptable.

I called the NABJ office again today at 12:12 p.m. and left ANOTHER message.

I haven't quite reached my boiling point yet...but I'm getting extremely close.

HaHa they probably blocked your number HaHa. Naw that is a mess, you need to get what you pay for, customer service is of the upmost importance, if I paid for something I better sure as heck get it. -CNEL

I got a phone call today at 4 p.m. from Veronique Dodson. She said NABJ found its error and that she will correct it in the system. She also said that she will send me out a new card immediately.
I'm a forgiving person but NABJ is still on the clock until I actually have the correct card in my hands.

You are starting to make me nervous! I just sent in my renewal today!

I still have faith in NABJ. I'm just a little ticked off at this situation. You'll probably have no problems.

That's funny because I renewed my membership about a month before Atlanta. And I just got my new card yesterday. But I am not at all surprised. We all need to start pulling some coat tails and holding someone responsible. Where exactly does the buck stop?

Tomorrow will be one week since I got that phone call from NABJ promising me the correct membershp card. I was still listed as a student in the nabj directory as of Tuesday. I'll have a blog update on Thursday
